(AUDIO) THE CADILLAC THREE IS OKAY WITH LETTING GO OF GOOD SONGS

Jaren, Neil and Kelby of The Cadillac Three are all incredibly talented songwriters who are constantly writing.  It might seem like it would be hard to ever finish an album because they’re always writing another great song they want to record, but Jaren says even if they write a great song after their album is completed, he’s okay with giving it to someone else.  “It depends on how big the song is,” says Jaren.  “’Cause, you know, I got a bunch of friends cuttin’ records right now and we’re not cuttin’ again for a bit and I probably got time to write another one of these (great songs).”

While the song he gives away could end up being a big ‘ol hit, Jaren says, “As long as the song finds the light of day somehow with somebody and finds a good home, I think it’s, you know, it’s like adopting a puppy or something, you know what I mean?”

Jaren knows that’s kind of a funny analogy, but he says, “I’m happy as long as the song finds a great home and gets the success that it’s due.”

The Cadillac Three’s new album, Bury Me in My Boots, will be released this Friday, August 5th.  It features 13 songs, all co-written by the guys in the band, including their latest single, “Drunk Like You.”

The Cadillac Three – songs after album is done  :39

Jaren – “It depends on how big the song is.  Like, if right now, you know ‘cause, you know, I got a bunch of friends cuttin’ records right now and we’re not cuttin’ again for a bit and I probably got time to write another one of these, you know I’ll probably pitch it to TR or whoever, you know what I mean.  Frankie, or something like that.  Let’s be honest, we wanna have a hit with Cadillac Three, that’d be great at some point.  As long as the song finds the light of day somehow with somebody and finds a good home, I think it’s, you know, it’s like adopting a puppy or something, you know what I mean?

Kelby – “It’s like adopting a puppy.”

Jaren – “I’m happy!  I’m just, I’m happy as long as the song finds a great home and gets the success that it’s due.”

Kelby  – “So song-writing is like dog breeding.”

Jaren – “Pretty much.  As long as you’re not breeding them to fight.”
