(AUDIO) THOMAS RHETT FINDS TIME TO REFLECT AT #1 PARTIES

Thomas Rhett’s career has been on fire lately, with six consecutive #1 songs to his credit and his latest single, “Vacation,” steadily making its way up the charts.  He’s currently out on the Six String Circus Tour playing the middle slot between A Thousand Horses and Jason Aldean, and his album, Tangled Up, continues to receive great reviews and sell incredibly well.  As fast as things are moving for Thomas these days, he doesn’t often get to stop and really process everything that’s happening, which is one reason he loves attending parties to celebrate his #1 songs.  He says, “In all of our lives, we’re always on to that next thing.  And so it’s really rare that I take time to sit down and fully celebrate good moments because you’re always working so hard towards that next big thing.  And so, that’s why these #1 parties are so special for me and I know for the songwriters.”

Besides getting to reflect on his own success at these parties, it gives Thomas a chance to shine the spotlight on the songwriters who make his hits possible.  He says, “You just kinda get a chance to really highlight the guys that wrote the song, not just the artist.  And they need just as much highlight as the artist does.”

Thomas co-wrote his latest single, “Vacation,” along with two other guys, plus four additional people who worked on creating the tracks for the song.  He also gave writing credit to the members of War, who wrote their big hit, “Low Rider,” because he realized there were some distinct similarities to his song and their song, and he didn’t want to risk any kind of litigation.
