(AUDIO) TIM McGRAW NEEDED THE MESSAGE OF HUMBLE AND KIND

Tim McGraw’s latest #1 song, “Humble and Kind,” is a powerful song with a message that everybody could stand to hear in the midst of the chaos of the world. In fact, Tim says, “It’s one of those things that, when you first hear a song like that, which is unbelievable, your first thought is ‘Man, what a great message to the world, what a great message for people to hear, what a great message for your kids to hear.’”

But the more Tim lived with the song and began thinking about recording it, he realized he needed to hear the message in “Humble and Kind” as much as the rest of the world. He says, “The more you listen to it, the more you get into it, the more you start figuring out how you want to record it, how you want it to feel when you’re singing it, it becomes really a lot more introspective than you realize. You look in the mirror a lot more and you look at yourself. It’s one of those things that you need to try to live up to yourself.”

Tim will soon be announcing the follow up single to “Humble and Kind,” off his latest album, Damn Country Music.

Tim McGraw – Humble and Kind reflective :38
“It’s one of those things that, when you first hear a song like that, which is unbelievable, your first thought is ‘Man, what a great message to the world, what a great message for people to hear, what a great message for your kids to hear.’ And then the more you listen to it, the more you get into it, the more you start figuring out how you want to record it, how you want it to feel when you’re singing it, it becomes really a lot more introspective than you realize. You look in the mirror a lot more and you look at yourself. It’s one of those things that you need to try to live up to yourself. And it’s not about just saying ‘Here, here’s what you need to try to do.’ It’s about saying ‘this is what I need to try to do’. And I think that’s what connects with people as much as anything- is that it’s a reflective song in a lot of ways on what you need to do with yourself.”
